The “Taifun” Special Forces Battalion is a specialized unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, established in 2024 to carry out combat missions using modern unmanned systems. The unit’s primary mission is to provide effective support to National Guard combat units through the active use of strike FPV drones, unmanned aerial systems, and technological solutions on the battlefield.

The unit specializes in aerial reconnaissance, striking enemy personnel, and destroying enemy equipment, logistics, ammunition depots, and other critical targets. The unit’s operators continuously monitor the combat zone, adjust fire support, and provide intelligence support to adjacent units.
