The chevron of the depth reconnaissance company of the 131st separate reconnaissance battalion of the AFU with a recognisable Ichkerian wolf. The commander of the battalion's 1st company is an old UNSO volunteer Igor Mazur, call sign ‘Topolya’, a participant in the wars in Georgia and Chechnya. It was former UNSO volunteers who played an exceptional role in the formation of the new battalion.
The 131st Independent Reconnaissance Battalion was created in April 2014 to participate in the war in eastern Ukraine. Its units have been in the combat zone since October 2014, first subordinated to the 54th Independent Reconnaissance Battalion. It mainly took part in the events in the southern Mariupol direction - in the area of Mariupol, Shirokino, Pavlopol, Pishchevik.
The battalion is subordinate to the Operational Command ‘South’ of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is stationed in the village of Gushchintsy in Vinnytsia region.
