Croatian Special Operations Forces Command - Wikipedia
Special Unit The Zrinski Battalion was established on May 18, 1991, as the first special unit of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The first battalion commander was Colonel Ante Roso, and his deputy was Major Miljenko Filipovic, both returnees from the Foreign Legion. The Zrinski Battalion was organized with the intention of operating independently on the entire territory of Croatia and conducting sabotage operations in the depths of enemy territory in the form of smaller combat groups. In 1994, he became part of the 1st Croatian Guards Corps. During the operations, 26 members of this unit were killed and 286 were wounded.
